10+2 Pass or it's equavlent. Students of any discipline in Arts, Commerce and Science (excluding Fine arts) can purse the Company Secretary course - CSEET (Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test)
This is the entry level course / Entrance test for any student intending to take up the CS course after their 10 + 2 or intermediate / Degree.
CS Executive Entrance Test (CSEET) is being introduced which will be a mandatory qualifying test for all categories of students for registration to Executive Programme except a few exempted categories. Graduates / Post Graduates, who were hitherto eligible to seek registration directly to Executive Programme, will also have to qualify the CSEET to become eligible for registration to Executive Programme
There is no stipulation as to the group that a student should have taken up at the 10 + 2 examination. Students of all groups are eligible for taking up the CS (Company Secretaries) course at the CSEET (Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test) level.
New Admissions to the Foundation Programme of CS Course stands discontinued. (Note : Existing Foundation Programme Students shall be allowed to appear in the Foundation Programme Examinations till expiry of the validity of their registrations. Such students, after passing the Foundation Programme Examinations, may register for Executive Programme as per existing process.)
ICSI , apex governing body of companies secretaries in India issued notification announcing that the student who have passed ICAI - CA, ICMAI - Cost Accountants will be eligible for CS executive.
All Graduates / Post Graduates, who were hitherto eligible to seek registration directly to Executive Programme, will also have to qualify the CSEET to become eligible for registration to Executive Programme
A student who has passed the 10 + 2 (Senior secondary/intermediate) examination conducted by a Board/University recognised by the Central Government or State Government may register for CSEET (Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test) Test.
Candidates who have appeared at the 10+2 (intermediate) examination and are confident of getting through the exam, can register provisionally.
A candidate can pursue the course even if he/she is a supplementary passed candidate at the 10 + 2 (senior secondary/intermediate) level.
CSEET (Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test) Course Duration :
Minimum course Duration 4 months.
There should be 3 months gap between course registration and main examination (It is the time limit to the students to complete the coaching and other formalities required for being eligible for appearing at the main examination at this level)
Main examinations (CSEET (Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test) Programme) are conducted once for every 3 months, the actual time gap between registration and appearing at the main examination should be 3 months.

The CSEET (Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test) being the entry level to the Company Secretaryship Course and gateway to the profession of Company Secretaries, the Syllabus Review Committee based on the feedback received from various stakeholders has completed the formulation of detailed contents of the Foundation Programme and Council of the Institute (ICSI) has approved the new syllabus for the CSEET (Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test).
Effective date for CSEET (Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test) New Syllabus
The new syllabus of CSEET (Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test) will be effective from May 2020.
New Pattern of Examination
Keeping in view the tech-savvy new generation and with a view to leverage the information technology, the Council of the Institute has decided to conduct Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) based Examination (Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions) for the CSEET (Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test) under the new syllabus.
First Examination
First examination under this new syllabus will be held from May 2020 session of CS examinations.
Option to students under existing CS Foundation syllabus
(i) Students who have registered prior to February, 2020 (subject to the validity of their registration) will have option to continue with the existing syllabus of CS foundation.
(ii) From 2023 session, all students will be automatically switched over to the CSEET (Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test) new syllabus.
(iii) In other words, from December, 2019 to 2023 session of examination both syllabus (existing syllabus as well as new syllabus) will run parallel.
Switchover to CSEET (Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test) new syllabus
(i) Students under the CS Foundation existing syllabus may switch over to the new syllabus. They may exercise their option to switch over to the new syllabus while filling up the examination form for 2020 session and no other formal request is required to be sent to the Institute for the purpose.
(ii) Students switching over to new syllabus will not have to pay any charges other than the cost of Study Materials under new syllabus, if any, to be purchased by them.

Change of place of residence to registration:
To ensure the receipt of the student news letter and other correspondence from the institute properly, the student should intimate the institute regarding the change of place of living so as to get his/her address changed in the records of the institute.
Students are also advised to intimate the post master of the earlier place of living, so that any mail received at that address would be redirected by the post master automatically.

CSEET (Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test) Provisional Registration?
A CSEET (Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test) provisional registration is a registration that is temporary and which would be regularised on fulfilling certain conditions in the future. The registration would be canceled if the conditions required are not met within the prescribed time limit.
Provisional Registration enables you to register for the course without having to wait for the results of the qualifying examination.
Who can register Provisionally?
Students who have appeared or have enrolled themselves for appearing at the examination that would enable them to be eligible for registration (if passing/getting through the same) i.e. the 10 + 2 or equivalent examination, can register for the course provisionally, if they are confident of getting through the said examination.
The student registering provisionally has to provide proof of having appeared or having enrolled for the examination (a photo copy of the hall ticket).
Procedure for CSEET (Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test) Provisional Registration
The procedure for registering provisionally is the same as that for Regular Registration.
The application for registration is the same as the one used for regular registration.
The difference being that, a candidates appends a copy of the examination hall ticket for provisional registration instead of a copy of the marks sheet of the qualifying examination.
Failure to Submit Results of qualifying exams within time
Provisional Registration is subject to the condition that the candidate would provide the result of the said qualifying examination within the prescribed time limit i.e. 6 months from the date of making application for registration.
Failure to Provide Results
Failing to provide the results of the qualifying examination would result in the registration getting canceled.
A candidate whose registration is canceled on account of failure to submit the proof of passing the qualifying examination will have to register afresh to pursue the course.
No consideration would be given for the coaching (oral/postal) for the course that has already been taken up or completed.

When can a student appear for his/her first CSEET (Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test) examination?
A student's eligibility to appear at an CSEET (Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test) examination is dependent on two factors. One, date of registration and two obtaining the CC. A student to appear at a certain examination should have registered before the cut off date in relation to that examination and should have also obtained the CC by the time of making application for the examination. For Students registering:
Before April 15th
– The First exam » Same Year May Exam & results will be announced by 20th May
Before June 15th
– The Second exam » Same Year July Exam & results will be announced by 20th July
Before October 15th
– The Third exam » Same Year November Exam & results will be announced by 20th November
Before September 15th
– The Fourth exam » Next Year January Exam & results will be announced by 20th January
Medium for writing the examinations
Examinations can be written either in ENGLISH or HINDI medium. A student has to mention the preference of medium at the time of making the application for examination.
The option to answer papers in HINDI should be exercised in total. Paper wise option is not available. The papers of a candidate who has not exercised his option to answer papers in Hindi, but answers them in Hindi, would not be valued.
In the absence of clear indication of preference at the time of making the application for examination, English will be taken as the preferred medium.
Maximum attempts allowed. Failing to get through within those
The restrictions on the number of attempts may come into operation on account of:
1. The maximum number of attempts allowed getting exhausted.
2. The registration getting expired.
3. The validity period of the EC/CC getting expired
However the registration is valid for 1 session ONLY.

CSEET (Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test) results Information Available
The results would be hosted on the respective Institutes [CS] web sites and would also be displayed at the offices of the institute, its branches, chapters, and also the offices relevant to the examination center where you have appeared for the examination
Qualifying Pass Marks in each paper separately
You are required to get a minimum of 40 marks in each paper (not subject) and an aggregate of 50% in all the papers together to qualify in the examination.
You are not qualified if you do not get 40% in any one of the papers or if you do not get the 50% aggregate
The student is required to get the minimum of 40 marks in the two sections together. There is no minimum for each section
Marks Sheet
All the students irrespective of their result, (whether they pass or fail the examination) will receive a marks list indicating the marks obtained in each subject/paper.
Pass Certificate
If you have passed the examination, you would also receive a pass certificate as a proof of passing the examination. This will be sent by post to the address mentioned in the application for examination.
Bone fide Certificate
The institute issues bona fide Certificate to the students for a specific purpose on receipt of a request in writing.
